Privacy Policy

How Lumera Research LLP collects, uses, and protects personal information from people who use this website.

1. Overview

1.1. Purpose of This Policy

At Lumera Research, LLP (“Company,” “we,” or “us”), we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) outlines how we collect, use, and protect personal information from users of our website (the “Site”). This Policy applies only to information collected through the Site and not to external websites that may be accessed via links from our Site.

1.2. Children's Privacy

This website is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover that a user under 13 has submitted personal data, we will take immediate steps to remove or anonymize that data.

1.3. Compliance with GDPR

We are committed to aligning with the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which enhances individual rights and enforces stricter data protection rules. You can read more about our GDPR practices in Section 7. For any inquiries, please contact our Data Protection Officer at sales@lumeraresearch.com.

2. Information We Collect

2.1. Information You Provide

We collect personally identifiable data that may include:

  • Name, email, address, and phone number
  • Last four digits of your credit card number (full details are handled by our payment partners)
  • Additional data such as your date of birth or social security number if provided
  • Device-related data like IP addresses and domain information

This information is collected when you complete forms, make purchases, or interact with our services.

2.2. Information Collected Automatically

We collect limited information needed to operate and improve the Site:

  • Aggregate page views: When you open a published Insight or report, we increment its total view count. A session-storage marker prevents repeat reloads in the same tab from being counted again. The counter does not store a visitor account, cookie ID, or browser fingerprint.
  • Essential browser storage: We use the basket and sample-access cookies and the local storage described in our Cookie Policy.

3. Use of Data and Disclosure Practices

3.1. How We Use Your Information

  • To process transactions and verify your identity
  • To communicate with you about product updates or service changes
  • For marketing purposes (if you've opted in) via third-party partners such as HubSpot and TribalVision
  • To analyze website traffic using anonymized data

3.2. Sharing and Disclosure

  • We do not sell personal data without your consent.
  • We may disclose data as required by law, in response to legal proceedings, or to safeguard rights and safety.
  • In the event of a merger or business acquisition, your information may be transferred as part of that process.
  • You may request deletion of your data by contacting us (see Section 6.1).

4. Data Security

We implement technical and administrative measures to safeguard your personal information. While we use industry-standard protections, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute safety.

4.1. Spam and bot prevention

We use Cloudflare Turnstile on checkout to detect automated spam and abuse. The invisible check may process signals such as your IP address, browser and TLS characteristics, user-agent, and the site where the check is used. Cloudflare processes these signals to protect websites from bots and to improve detection. Read the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Addendum.

5. External Content and Public Areas

5.1. Public Forums

Any information shared on community features like chat rooms or message boards becomes public and should be shared cautiously.

5.2. Third-Party Links

Our Site may link to other websites with independent privacy policies. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.

7. GDPR Compliance (EU Residents)

7.1. Data Handling and Consent

For EU users, personal data is transferred to and processed in the United States. Your use of the Site implies consent to this transfer and processing.

7.2. Data We Collect

Includes registration details, contact information, and partial credit card data. See Section 2 for more details.

7.3. Purpose and Storage

We use data to fulfill transactions, manage user accounts, and send promotional material (with consent). Your data is stored only as long as needed for its original purpose.

7.4. Sharing of Personal Data

We may share data with service providers for processing payments, analytics, hosting, or marketing. We only disclose what's necessary to fulfill our services or as legally required.
